Beginning November 1, 2012, the Chamblee Business Association, Kiwanis International, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will sponsor our annual Food Drive to benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. All businesses in Chamblee are asked to participate and collect non-perishable food through December 11th which will feed the hungry and homeless in our community.
In 2011, St. Vincent de Paul assisted more than 202,000 individuals with food, direct financial assistance, training and education. The organization not only helps with hunger but also distributed 10 tons of perishable food to our neighbors, keep the lights, heat and water on for more than 36,000 individuals, and helped 22,000 people keep a roof over their heads.
St. Vincent de Paul’s headquarters has been located in Chamblee for more than 15 years and is the hub for feeding families and offering hope to those in need in Georgia. Since the inception of the collaboration, the Chamblee Business Association has collected more than 2,000 items each year.
To participate in the annual food drive and to learn more how you can help your community, please contact Kevin Barbee at firstname.lastname@example.org or 678-892-6160.
Local businesses pick up (or request delivery of) barrels for food collection. THAT IS YOUR ACTION STEP. Call to get a barrel. Place the barrels at your place of business for employee and customer donations.
