Happy New Year!

Our first Chamblee Business Association meeting of 2012 is Thursday, January 19th.  Our guest speaker is Leng Leng Chancey, Director of Development at the Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS).  She manages and oversees the day to day  public relations, marketing and fundraising efforts of CPACS.  If you are not familiar with CPACS you will be amazed at all they do for our community.

About CPACS

The Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Inc. (CPACS) was founded in 1980 under the vision that “people need people”. Our mission is to create and deliver culturally and linguistically competent and comprehensive health and social services. We are the first, largest and oldest organization in the Southeast to focus on issues and concerns of Asian Americans, especially women, children and families with low incomes. Majority of our clients are limited English proficiency groups, which includes Afghani, Bhutanese, Burmese, Cambodian, Chinese, Ethiopian, Karen, Korean, Hmong, Indian, Iraqi, Laotian, Mexican, Nepali, Pakistani, Rwandan, Somali, Sudanese, Thai and Vietnamese right here in our own back yard.  Over the last 30 years, CPACS has served over 150,000 individuals in our community, and a majority of them reside in DeKalb County.  Currently, CPACS serves an average of 2300 clients a month.

CBA Business Meetings

CBA meetings are open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend. The meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Chamblee Civic Center, at 3540 Broad St. in Chamblee. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and the program begins at 8 a.m. There is no charge for first-time guests; the cost for returning guests is $10 and $5 for members. A continental breakfast will be served.

Country’s Newest IHOP Opens In Chamblee

Chamblee, GA –IHOP, one of America’s favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, has opened its newest location in Chamblee, Georgia.  The new restaurant is located at 5516 Peachtree Boulevard, and is located at Exit 31-A off I-285 across from Curry Honda.    Owned and operated by Jose Rodriguez and Joe Scripture, the restaurant is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

While best known for pancakes and traditional breakfast favorites, IHOP features a complete lunch and dinner menu.  In fact, guests that visit the new IHOP may be surprised at how IHOP has changed.  A warmer, more inviting décor that emphasizes the heritage of IHOP greets the guests.  Once seated, guests are sure to notice the new menu and its enhanced focus on lunch and dinner choices.

“IHOP is proud to be part of the Chamblee community”, explains Joe Scripture, the company’s managing partner, “We’re excited about the recent growth in Chamblee, and we will do everything we can to be a positive contributor to the community.  We have about 80 staff members right now and almost all of us live in the Atlanta area, so we really feel that the people here are our neighbors.  We’re going to do everything we can to make it an IHOP day for every one of our guests.”

Steam Koffee Opens in Chamblee Village
